Bobs Red Mill Flaxseed Meal

cafe mom, joanne27, recipe groups for momsI wanted to share with you all about one of my favorite foods flax seed meal! I get the Bobs Red Mill Whole Ground flax seed Meal you can get it at health food stores and in most grocery stores I get it at a discount bread store for less, flax seed meal is ground flax seeds...

You can't go wrong with flax seeds or any seeds for that matter, but flax seed are so good for you, you deserve this info!

Flax seeds contain Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids
Potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B3, vitamin E, They are high in fiber and protein.

It is a fact the better the foods that you consume the clearer you will think and the better you and your child will learn!

Flax seed is also good for controlling asthma and ADD, ADHD symptoms as well as calm your kids down so they can think better and how it applies to home schooling they learn better!

I use the flax seed meal all the time in our home, I use a tbs in the pancake batter to add extra fiber, protein and nutrition. I also use it in smoothies which is great and adds the same benefits!

I make cookies, muffins, I also add it to bread crumbs or alone to use for oven fried chicken!

You can get recipes on line as well.

The more you can get flax seed in your families diet the healthier you all will be!

I suggest you get some of the Bobs Red Mill on the back is a recipe for some great muffins that are so good for you!

Don't get the whole flax seed it is way to difficult to ground and it takes time.

Flax seeds are great in salad and in bread but I just use the ground then I can use it for anything!

Home Schooling VS Traditional Schooling

So How Do Homeschoolers Do Comparatively?

Socially: There is a common myth that homeschooling produces social misfits. This myth partially arises from an assumption that traditional education systems provide “normal” socialization activities.

Dr. Raymond Moore, in his book Better Late than Early writes that “The idea that children need to be around many other youngsters in order to be ‘socialized’ is perhaps the most dangerous and extravagant myth in education and child rearing today."

There is ample research that indicates that because home schooled students are exposed to a wider variety of people and situations, they learn to get along with a variety of people, making them socially mature and better able to adjust to new situations.

In their Communities: Many non-homeschoolers believe that homeschooling can turn out better students, but because homeschool students are educated in greater isolation from the world, they are less politically and socially involved. This concern comes at a great time, for homeschoolers at least.

The first generation of homeschoolers has now grown up and entered the workforce. Dr. Ray surveyed over 7,000 adults who had been home schooled and compared them against their more traditionally educated peers. His research found that:
Ninety-five percent of homeschoolers had an adequate comprehension of politics and government, compared to 65% of U.S. adults.

Seventy-one percent of homeschool graduates participate in ongoing community service
activities, including politics, compared to 37% of adults in similar ages.

Eighty-eight percent of HS graduates are members of organizations (community groups, church, or professional organizations) compared to 50% of U.S. adults.

Significantly, 76% of homeschool graduates voted in a national or state election within the past 5 years, compared to 29 percent of similar U.S. adults.

What type of curriculum will you use and where will you get it?

I mentioned before that depending on the state you live you have many options for home schooling once you know what is available to you, you have to decide how you will be home Schooling.

If you use a Home Based Charter School, they will supply you with the curriculum required for your child's grade and you will have a Teacher to assist you. This may or may not cost you anything some home based private schools will have a charge but the charter is usual public by state, this is something you will have to look into.

Other Home School options will require you to provide all necessary curriculum to your child for their grade, you will have to purchase most of it and the Internet has many sites were you can get FREE lessons and curriculum ideas and worksheets.

Curriculum Sites: These may or may not be free sites. Although it seems that most offer some free worksheets, etc... Some require you to purchase a membership for full site capabilities.
